Scientists torom at Purdue University in Indiana have made anodes for lithium ion batteries with carbon nanoparticles and microlamellae from Styrofoam and starch. These residues exceed the conventional graphite electrodes, which represents a large ecological approach of reusing waste.
Batteries torom are currently two electrodes, called an anode and cathode. The anodes in most lithium ion batteries today are made of graphite.
